That’s a lot of rubbish

IF the Border’s parks are looking extra tidy today, you can thank the locals who turned out for Clean Up Australia Day activities around the region yesterday.

Dozens of people turned up at each site, including Bonnie Doon Park in West Albury and Les Stone Park in Wodonga, where bags and bags of rubbish were picked up.

Albury Council’s environmental health officer Lauri prada handbags ston Muirhead said the day was important in making people realise they were directly part of the environment.

“If you’re trashing the environment, you’re trashing your home,” he said.

“Often the message is just as important as the action of picking up rubbish.

“People need to realise the beauty and effectiveness of the environment is within their control.”

That’s a lot of baggage

I’m pro bag, always have been, always will be.

Paper or prada handbags plastic, it makes no difference. I’m pro and I’m not afraid to say it, loud and proud, clear and sincere, every day and in every way.

I used to keep my pro bag sentiments to myself. Nobody asked and I didn’t tell. I wasn’t hiding anything. I figured a bag a free bag was an inalienable right. Why drone on about it?

I could walk into any store anytime and buy, say, a loaf of bread, and the honest, hardworking checkout clerk would toss my purchase in a bag, smile and say, “Have a nice day.”

“You, too, my friend,” I’d respond, and an unspoken message of harmony would pass between us like a lightning bolt.

Little prada handbags did I know the forces of intolerance lurked in the shadows. I refer to the anti bag movement.

First the anti baggers went after plastic. They said plastic bags were bad for the environment, including squirrels. I like squirrels.

“Oh well,” I thought, “there will always be paper.”

Then the anti baggers we prada handbags nt after paper. They followed their totalitarian impulses. They passed a law where I’m from forcing stores to charge customers 10 cents a bag. They said paper bags were bad for the environment, including squirrels, since squirrels live in trees.

Stores started peddling chintzy reusable bags made of burlap and candle wax, starting at a buck apiece. I own of bunch of these bags, but somehow I never have one when I need it.
