Speaking of Grey Cup, the party of all parties will be held Nov. 27 at the Rush downtown on 9 Ave.

It’s being put together by former Stampeder great Bruce (The Tuna) Covernton in support of the Calgary Minor Football Association and it’s is going to be the get together for the who’s who, who will be in town for the big game.

Here are just a few of the CFL greats that will be there: Mike (Pinball) Clemons, Dan Keply, Alondra Johnson, Matt Dunigan, Damon Allen, Herm (Ham Hands) Harrison, Scotty Coe, Ed Hervey and a dozen more, including many Hall of Famers.

The night includes, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, photos with CFL legends, CFL memorabilia, highlights of classic games and a house DJ.

This is the event the players love going to, and it will sell out early don’t be disappointed get your ticket this week.

There is another great event going on sponsored by the CFL Alumni, The Legends Club Luncheon being held at the same day Nov. 27, with all proceeds going to the Dire Needs Fund which offers support and financial assistance to CFL retirees, who have had challenges or medical hardships.

All of the CFL Alumni events will go under one big umbrella to help those who have already provided us with thrills and excitement over the years they played.

The inaugural luncheon will be held at Flames Central, 219 8 Ave. There are different packages you can buy, VIP tickets are $150 and standing reception style tickets are only $75.

The panel for the first time event includes the TSN CFL panel of Dave Randorf, Jock Climie, Matt Dunigan and Chris Shultz.

The greatest Grey Cup moments will be featured on screen with the inside story being provided by those who played in the game. Should be a great afternoon and a great warm up to the Night Of Champions. I already can’t wait.

Believe it or not, we are only eight weeks away from Christmas.

You may have noticed the Halloween candy sitting just on top of the Christmas displays.

As soon as the masks get put away, Santa will make his appearance, so get your to do list done as soon as possible.

I think we may have seen the worst so lets get out there and spark up the economy.

Take your hand sanitizer out, bundle the kids up and get put and enjoy November. COP is already open for skiing and boarding, Sunshine and Louise soon to follow and skating rinks are wide open and there are a ton of fun winter events planned for the month.
